[Summer Kisses, Winter Tears (movie version, vocal overdub)
Take NA (M) Drum track overdubbed on August 11 ]
Lyrics
( Wise - Weisman - Lloyd)
Summer kisses, Winter tears
That was what she gave to me
Never thought that I'd travel all alone
The trail of memories
Happy hours, lonely years
But I guess I can't complain
For I still recall the Summer sun
Through all the Winter rain
The fire of love, the fire of love
Can burn from afar
And nothing can light the dark of the night
Like a falling star
Summer kisses, Winter tears
Like the stars they fade away
Leaving me to spend my lonely nights
With dreams of yesterday
The fire of love, the fire of love
Can burn from afar
And nothing can light the dark of the night
Like a falling star
Summer kisses, Winter tears
Like the stars they fade away
Leaving me to spend my lonely nights
With dreams of yesterday
Leaving me to spend my lonely nights
With dreams of yesterday
Summer kisses, Winter tears

This song was filmed and put in the "Flaming star" movie.
But with the pre-screening it was thought that the song was not at his place in the movie nor at the right moment.
Some members of the audience laughed at this scene, wich wich not ment to be...
It was cut around the time Elvis/Pacer smoked the peace pipe with the Indian tribe.
So,where is this footage?
They did the right thing to cut it,since any musical score is not at his place in the picture,it's far to dramatic.
"A cane and high starched collar" stayed in it.
But it's a shame that the movie image version(as it later was released on the Double features audio cd) not turned up elswhere since then..
Still,a cute song, but strange for in this movie.
And Steve,nice work buddy!!

This song isn't one of my favourites by Elvis,it's a movie song and it shows.Don't get me wrong Elvis is in great voice but I just don't like the song itself. It's average material at best and Elvis deserved better than this.

hello christophe
let me give the information you're looking for:
there are no alternate takes released; on the LP/CD Stax trax from 1990 you can find a " fake " undubbed version.
there are some channels put down on a original quadro LP to create this undubbed version like RCA/BMG did with the Our Memories for Elvis vol. 1-2 LP's from 1978/79.
