I was able to pick up the latest Elvis cd titled "The American Way". It consist of the legendary 1969 american sound studio recordings. This one is Volume One in a series. Pretty amazing stuff, especially the Suspicious Minds outtakes......."in the ghetto": 11 outtakes........"Suspicious Minds":7 outtakes.. Kentucky Rain : 9 outtakes...........Rubberneckin':complete rehearsal take.......Mama liked the roses & dont cry daddy both acetates, undubbed. here is the front cover Sheila............. hope it came through ? Been looking at this one...

Is there much unreleased material on here that haven't been released previously ? I have finding the way home, American Crown Jewels and all the FTD releases...so curious as to the contents of this release

I can thoroughly recommend listening to this with headphones on Chris, the sound is awesome, havent heard much of the others, but I have listened to this and it's great.

I hope the Birthday Bunny brings you it

thoese gender albums and i do injoy them a lot.


But i don't think i be getting any more import cds but i well buy the ftd cds though.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner about the cd "The American Way". Matt was right on, the sound & quality are out of sight !!! In relation to the "American Crown Jewels" which is great also, "American Way" I believe is the first volume in a series ? I feel it covers the songs in an almost complete takes sessions where "American Crown" was more each of a single take from each session.
I posted the backside of this cd so you might be able to see the song selections ? The inside of the jewels case has the innner sleeve also with some rare pics of Elvis and alot of session info. too.

The cd looked great! Bit what about the cd's that you find in stores like Best Buy or Walmart. Anything new that will come out? I'm not talking about reissues.

I think what Sheila is looking for is BMG releases that we used to look out for at the stores. Since the FTD releases took off that sort of died out by the wayside.
Sheila, a few releases are out at the stores though(wallmart & best buy)? Recently they released Elvis' camden albums on compact disc(let's be friends, flamin' star,etc.). Another stupid xmas cd was put out to bleed us and a set which contained compilations of movies, live concert, love songs etc.) of just what we needed ?
As far as I'm concerned though(and no one can ever change my mind) RCA/BMG mishandled Elvis' entire music career. Simple Question ? "How does one not professionally film every show or a few shows from each stand of the WORLDS' GREATEST ENTERTAINER & record all the music that was done" ? RCA/BMG should be given at least 30 lashes from the heaviest swingin' whips known to mankind !!!!
................just what we needed, more trashy/compilations and reissues to salt our fans wounds !!!!!!

Just picked up the new Wilbury's CD/ DVD featuring Vol.1 & Vol.3

My Shannon just got this for me as well, Chris......Have always loved the Wilburys. Cool set, indeed!

Did you get the Deluxe Edition or the Standard? Same disc content on both, just more "Goodies" in the Deluxe Editon.......I have the Standard Edition, and I'm just as happy with it, knowing there is not difference in the actual disc content.

I just got the standard myself Barry, as you say... no difference in actual audio/ visual material.

Will be giving Tweeter & co a blast tonight!

I wanted to share this CD & it's contents with you in case you wanted to look for it too. It's proclaimed to be an excellent companion to Elvis' "ON STAGE feb 1970" cd. It's on the Madison label and has a bookleted sleeve inside with various info and pic's of which are not new to us. It's not bad,cover is cool,sound is real great. Are you aware that here in the U.S.A. at our Wallmarts ,Sony/BMG released some cd's but the 1 that I'll be referring to for you all to know is the cd called :ELVIS "Viva Las Vegas". They gave Wallmart 2 versions of this cd. Both cd's have the same cover but the single disc has the dark cover while the double disc that will be of interest will have a light brown cover. That double disc (being exclusive to only Wallmarts) has an intense unreleased fantastic full concert set of Elvis recorded from the International Hotel in Las Vegas,August 21. This was the FIRST concert recorded by RCA records mobile unit during Elvis's return to Vegas.

I don't understand why disc 1 has 16 tracks for the US version and disc 1 has 19 tracks for the international version besides disc 2 with the 21 aug. 1969 concert on the new Viva Las vegas release.

this 21 aug. 1969 concert is a compiled concerts with the first 11 tracks from the dinner show and the remaining tracks from the midnight show.
most of the tracks from the 21-08-69 midnights show were availbale on several imports.

I'm not sure why the difference between the USA/International are different in track counts but I'm pretty sure the cd w/ the show is alot better quality than the imports as we compared. Hope you can get it, it's a great show.

So, this isn't a complete show on disc 2 then? That bites!

recently got adios huntsville - great packaging /booklet , and the sounboard performance is great , although i hate the version of the wonder of you -a false start, and of course i'm glad he quit burning love, he sounds a bit drained on trouble, all in all a great release to have and very well packaged-, another great release is kicking and rolling , a topnotch booklet filled with some great bonja shots , and the liner notes tell us the real story behind the onstage scuffle, even though ELVIS voice is noticably weak- you don't have... he pulls off a great show and rock's with a great version of steam roller, and of course you hear the commotion in the audience[the woman shrieking , oh ELVIS , oh no, ] and then ELVIS himself assures us that he should have broke his g.. ... neck , and whooped his ass, and anmazingly the band continues playing the green onions theme throughout the scuffle , and the sound is terreffic , even better than some sounboards from the same period.

Just bought The American Way Vol. 4 finally! Should be here this week woohoo!
