WITCHCRAFT
Words & Music: Dave Bartholomew/P. King
Recorded: May 26, 1963
Location: RCA's Studio B (Nashville, TN)
Lyrics:
Don't do that, please stop it
Please stop it now
You know I can't take it
Please stop it now
My head is spinning a spell on me now
My head is spinning around and around
My head is spinning around and around
Your witchcraft has got me
Keep going down and down
Let me forget her, don't mention her name
You know it brings back that old burning flame
It hurts to know that she doesn't feel the same
I can't go on since she left me alone
My one desire now is to cry, now to cry
She might come back one day by and by and by

I like Witchcraft more than Bossa Nova Baby. Because it was a studio song and not film song.

I sing this song quite often. Of course I don't know it all so I am always singing the same parts. I think it's a rockin' tune though

Hi Rusty
Welcome to the forum

Witchraft was one of the songs on the 8 track tape that Dad kept playing over and over again (only one he had)- subjecting me to listen to 'that old guy' that Dad kept insisting was really really good.....and look at the results
Agree - aways uplifting to hear Witchcraft -for me - for sentimental reasons as well

Witchcraft is a real gem. I still can't believe that it was a "B" side. This song stands on its own and should have been an "A" side, IMHO. This is one of the real gems from the '60s which shows that Elvis could still deliver even while making the movies.
